~THE NAME~
"We get asked about the name all the time, it's not a
mission statement or anything like that. I always have liked names with wit and
irony. I was a big fan of Camper Van Beethoven. The name also reflects a
certain sense of magic and dreams - we thought that was very lacking in music
when we started - music for a blind time, if you will. It also takes the
piss out of that phony spiritual thing Third Eye Blind has always been about

~HISTORY~
Third Eye Blind, the four-man band from the Bay area, rehearsed the songs for their self-titled album in a warehouse in San Francisco's Chinatown.
Their debut album was released in the US on April 8, 1997. Third Eye Blind is not a new band. They've been together since 1993. At the Billboard Music Awards, they played Semi-Charmed Life and won Modern Rock track of The Year. They were at the 1998 Bammies where they won 3 of the 7 awards they were nominated for- they won Outstanding Songwriter, Outstanding Debut Album, and Outstanding Album. They also played Losing A Whole Year and Narcolepsy.
~RANDOM FACTS~
Stephan plays guitar right handed but writes left handed. You can tell in pictures of him where he's signing autographs.
They list U2, Perry Farrell, Camper Van Beethoven and David Bowie as early musical influences.
The dog in the car in the video for Semi-Charmed Life and being walked in the video for How's It Going To Be is Stephan's dog, Kobuta (otherwise known as "Koby" or "The Boo")
